Product development and buying

The goal of product development and purchasing should be:

Create products that people are interested in and produce them in a reasonable quantity

The quantity will depend on your existing customer base, size breakdown of your customers, cash flow, MOQs etc.

To succeed a market analyzes of what people look for might be useful, but “good taste” is also important.

It is important to take into account that what people say they want, and what they buy is two different things. Women often are very eager to say they love a color, but end up buying black. So one has to look at both data and feedback from customers. If possible, base conclusion on facts/data.

Product development

We have a product development base with a lot of tables in airtable:

Table explanation:

sample test

Sample test process:

  1. Go to the “Today’s tests view”
  2. Add the product to test. If you cannot find it, it needs to be created in the “new products in development table”
  3. Take at least 3 pictures of the item when the sample tester uses it
  4. Take note in the comment field of any changes that needs to be done

Cooperation with factories

Views per factory are synced to separate bases that factory contact persons have access to.
